First time staying in our geodomes and not sure how to plan your weekend?
Truthfully, they tend to plan themselves. Book your stay with us and experience everything the domes and surrounding areas have to offer. There are beaches, a hiking trail, and a lake nearby for the outdoorsy folks, but if you prefer to stay in, the domes are fully equipped for a cozy stay.
It’s kind of like a choose-your-own-adventure, and everyone’s adventure will look a little different. 🗺️
Why do people come back to Mill Lake Retreat?
For some, it’s about the convenience. Being close to amenities and just a 45-minute drive from Halifax is an underrated quality for a weekend getaway. For others, it’s the escape from the ordinary of everyday life, the chance to get up in the morning and just relax for the rest of the day. And for some, it’s the fully equipped domes themselves that provide a luxury a normal tent just doesn’t have.
If you’re staying with us for the first time, you might have a couple questions. Here’s a few FAQs to help you get ready for your stay!
Q: What time can you check-in/out at?
A: Check-in is after 4:00 pm, and check-out is before 10:00 am.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: We will refund you 100% up to 15 days before your stay (minus a 3% processing fee). If your stay is within 15 days, we offer a partial refund, and we will refund 50% of every night if your stay minus the first night.
Q: How many people can stay in one dome?
A: A maximum of 4 people can stay in one dome.
Q: Are you pet-friendly?
A: Unfortunately not. While we love your furry friends, we are not pet-friendly.
Q: Are you smoke-friendly?
A: Smoking is not permitted in the domes. We ask you please use one of our many designated cigarette receptacles, as smoking in the woods poses a risk of fire.
Q: Are parties permitted in the domes?
A: No, parties are not permitted.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Only 45 minutes from Halifax and 10 minutes from Hubbards!
Q: Are there any good restaurants nearby?
A: Yes! The Shore Club is just 10 minutes away. Also be sure to check out Rosa Rugosa, The Trellis Cafe, Tuna Blue, and Black Harbour Distillery!
